The few basic philosophies that I perscribe to are:
1. Never rush into a situation head-on without taking time to assess the situation.
2. Religion should never be enforced upon anyone without his consent. And we all should preach understanding and tolerance towards one another.
3. Always take time to delve into the future. Think long-term rather than about the immediate future.
4. Self-sufficiency. If you want something, never rely on someone else when you can attain it yourself. Hard work makes you treasure the fruits of your success more.
